The gangsta style was popularized in the late 80's to 90. This style was checked shirts and jackets, Chuck Taylor sneakers and baseball caps. Late 90s, returned to mobsters for the years 1930 and 1940 for inspiration. Many gang clothing increased classically inspired gangster with bowlers, cross suits, silk shirts and alligator shoes.
Sportswear has become popular in recent 90s fashion in hip-hop to the prominence of Tommy Hilfiger. A sports trend is particularly evident is Throwback Jersey. Sean Combs has introduced elements such as strong, flashy PVC aviator inspired suits and platinum jewelry.
