For those who like to play pranks on his friends, trying to get their hands on the phones IMobile that appear to have been created by famous fashion house Louis Vuitton Mini Phone. These phones are imitation of some place in Asia and sport, two styles of Motorola phone company, but with the printed signature Vuitton. A whole unique collaboration we must say. Even if they are complete Knock Off gives us an idea of the Louis Phone Vuitton would be as if the company ever thought of creating phones.

An Israeli start-up mobile operators believe in three countries to try a new concept: a small phone that is interchangeable "jackets" to become a bigger, smarter mobile telephone – or in other devices to connect to the Internet.

The company, Modu, announced Thursday it will launch the phone, also called Modu, on October 1 with Telecom Italia SpA in Italy, OAA Vimpel Communications in Russia and Cellcom Israel Ltd.

Telecom Italia Mobile and Cellcom are the largest companies in their respective countries, while VimpelCom is the second largest in Russia.

The Modu is slightly smaller than the current iPod Nano and weighs 43 grams. It has a color screen and a limited keypad, which allows it to function as a rudimentary cell phone on your own.

The jackets that will come with Modu look like cell phones, with standard numeric keypads and other features like a camera. But it lacks the antenna and chips that communicate with a wireless network, and is where the Modu comes in – to go into a slot, turning the jacket into a fully functional phone.

Modu founder Dov Moran said in an interview that the Italian company is excited about the idea because it can make mobile phones more like fashion, tempting consumer update Eye a few months.

"This allows you to make a summer collection and winter collection," Moran.

"Companies are really interested in getting more customers coming through their stores, instead of signing and coming every two years to sign a new contract and get a phone again, "said Daniel Amir, a chip analyst at Lazard Capital Markets in San Francisco. He called the Modu a potential" game changer "in the field of mobile telephony.

The jacket is cheap, has almost no electronics, and need not be tested by the company to verify that they conform to their standards network.

Moran estimates that operators can sell a Modu and two jackets as a bundle of about $ US280, a price that can subsidize up free or nearly free with a double contract year.

The jackets will be available at launch in other countries reflect the differences between them. The Russian company wants focus on children who are high-growth market for mobile phones, so Modu is making jackets with cartoon themes for them.

The Israeli carrier wanted a cell phone for soldiers, so Modu is a jacket with a solid green light bag.

Other jackets could focus on music, which comes with pre-loaded tunes, or are provided with full keyboard for text messaging. Universal Music Group has said it wants the jackets that center on its artists.

Modu has not had time to discuss with U.S. carriers, Moran said. It hopes to launch the phone in 2009 at soon.

One of the shortcomings of the first model is to use General Packet Radio Service or GPRS, for data transfer. This technology is widely deployed, but slow to roughly equivalent to dial up high speed.

Limiting the usefulness of the modu, but Moran said the company is working on upgrades using High-Speed Download Packet Access, a "third generation" technology used by AT & T to others. An upgraded Modu work with jackets and mates designed for first-generation unit, Dov said.

Modu is also talking about the consumer electronics companies like the Magellan Navigation, Calif.-based manufacturer of devices for the Global Positioning System and car audio manufacturer Blaupunkt, a subsidiary of Robert Bosch Germany.

The idea is that consumer electronics companies to establish slots for the Modu into their devices to give them network connectivity. This could allow an GPS device to receive updates on traffic or map changes. A photo frame with a Modu slot and speakers could act as a music player, image shows the charging station.

Other handset makers have been sniffing at the modular concept. The phones of Luxury Sony Ericsson has filed a patent for a modular phone. But Modu appears to be the most advanced in its plan, and the indispensable support of the major carriers.

Among consumer electronics companies, seeking to be connected to wireless networks is mainly focused on the development of wireless technologies in appliances, usually in the form of Bluetooth radios that connect to mobile phones.

In a competition approach, some manufacturers of building full cellular modems into their devices. Amazon.com 's Kindle e-book reader contains a cellular broadband modem, for example, Parrot and France built a mobile phone into a picture frame that can receive picture messages.

The mobile phone manufacturers, on the other hand, have invaded the area of consumer electronics by building more functions into their phones, like cameras and GPS locators.

Moran, founder of Modu, also founded M-Systems, which pioneered USB flash drives. The company was acquired by the company SanDisk California in 2006 to US1.6 billion.
