Top of the line, swanky bars in San Antonio?
Hi, I grew up in SA and visit once in a while. I want to take my husband out on the town but want to go to the “nice” bars – no tourist traps. Are there some places where people dress up a bit, order cocktails more than beer, etc.? I’m just wondering if there is any place less like Hard Rock and more like the Four Seasons in NYC, the Raleigh or Delano in Miami, or the Redwood Room in SF?

Gosh…Not The Flying Saucer. It’s nice and all…but a pretty casual beer joint.
Check out Suede Lounge and Zen bar downtown by The Majestic. They’re pretty swanky. I saw Eva Longoria and Tony Parker out there. There’s a really nice bar in the Stone Oak Parkway area called Dolce. It’s definitly a dress-up kinda place. Reggiano’s is a nice bar also in the Stone Oak Pkwy area, 1604, between Blanco and 281 area. Young professionals meet out there.
Again, I wouldn’t recommend The Flying Saucer. It’s nice for beer. But not a classy place.
