Dress For Memorial Service
What attire do you where to a memorial service?
I am going to a memorial because the person was cremated and will not be buried. Do you still where all black even though its not a funeral and what if the hubby or my 9 month old can’t find any black? Would a dress for me be appropriate?
And yes my 9 month old is going to be at the service. Its on thursday and the visitation is at 10 and the service is at 11am. How long will/should the service last?
memorial is just for a family member
It kind of depnds where you are regionally. In my area of the country, people pretty much wear anything that is suitable for dressier occasions, like church, paying little attention to color, other than not wearing brightly colored clothes unless specified ( I went to a memorial once where the family specifically requested the guests to wear bright, fun colors and prints, since the deceased would have wanted that.)
Some other areas of the country it would be bad manners to wear anything not black, grey or navy. So it depends.
I do think your baby daughter would be just fine in anything dressy you have for her. People wouldn’t expect a baby to be dressed in black.
