Where do I start to have an clothing item mass produced in the USA ?
I have a 20 year old men’s wool coat that the manufacturer no longer carries, Every time I wear it people comment on its classic look. I am interested in having this high end wool coat made, and I want to use a textile manufacture in the USA, but I am having no luck finding out how to get started. I can’t find any information on the web. Can anyone direct me?
There are two paths to take. Go to a store an look at the labels. You need to go high end to find any USA made. Then use the internet to find the companies.
The second is to go through internet portals such as the first reference. The NC database can be found at the second reference. Also, you could contact [TC]2, an industry contact.
Just a note. Unless you are looking to make hundreds, you may need to start with a tailor. Also, they are going to want money up front in most cases.
