People to People Student Ambassador Program?
I just got a People to People Student Ambassador Program letter today. I got invited to go to France, Italy, and Greece. This question if for people that have gone on it or have had kids participate in it. Is it worth while? Can you bring your phone? I would want to contact people and things. And I know some programs don’t let you. Where do you stay? Do you have to wear a uniform or can you wear your own clothes that you bring? Is it fun? Is it legit? Is it likely that someone you know got invited too? Thanks
Sorry guys, it’s nothing special. Anyone can be invited. I was invited loads of times, and almost went once. It’s not a bad program, but there are MUCH better values for your money out there. I was supposed to go to France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and Germany with them in 2006, but I broke my foot 3 days before and couldn’t go. Luckily, I got my money back. Last year, I used it to pay for most of a semester-long exchange program. If you’re seriously interested in “studying abroad” don’t waste your time and money with P2P. It’s probably fun and everything, but it’s overpriced and not worth it in my opinion. Go on a real exchange program! It’ll cost about the same, and you’ll get SO MUCH MORE out of it. AFS, Rotary, YFU, ASSE, Intrax, EF, and CIEE are all good exchange programs.
