Men’s Apparel for Captain’s Dinners?
What happens if I do not have a dinner jacket? I do, though, have black dress slacks, a white shirt and bowtie. Could I get away with that? Would the white bowtie be too much? Please, help me out. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
It all depends on how formally everyone else is going to be. I think you would look dapper in the outfit you described, however, if the affair is black tie, you Must have a jacket. The good news is that many places have really good Goodwill and second hand clothing places that you may be able to find a very nice, even new, dinner jacket. You can always rent too!
